What are Children’s Centres?
Children’s Centres are for parents to be or parents and carers with children under five years old. These centres work closely with other initiatives such as Extended Schools so that families are able to access childcare and education as children move into school. They contribute to meeting the aims set out in Every Child Matters: Being Healthy, Staying Safe, Enjoying and Achieving, Economic Well being and making a Positive Contribution. Children’s Centres aim to develop integrated services that provide personalised support to children and their families.
What do Children’s Centres Offer?
Children’s Centres will provide a range of services which reflect the local need and parent choice. They aim to offer information, advice and support to fathers, mothers and carers, as well as integrated childcare and early learning, health services, family support, parental outreach and employment / training advice.
